Poster Presentations - Format and Guidelines

Objectives

  1. To present the best new scientific research available
  2. To present the best practices in treatments and prevention of different expressions of addiction (e.g. drug, alcohol, smoking, gambling, sex, internet, eating, stealing, etc.)

Submission of Abstract

  1. Abstract should be written in English or Chinese in a maximum of 300 words that highlight the objectives, significant findings, implications and impacts. Please refer to the Abstract Submission Form for details.
  2. For poster with more than one author/organization representative, please cite the contact author/organization representative as the first author and provide the full contact detail.
  3. The closing date for submission of abstract is 17 February 2017. Please submit your abstract by emailing to Mr. Eric Ma at apcap@tungwah.org.hk. All submissions will be reviewed by a vetting committee, and confirmation of acceptance will be sent to you via email by 24 February 2017.

Display and Presentation

  1. Content of the project will be developed as posters to be displayed during the 1st APCAP between 18 – 19 May 2017 at the conference venue, Z209, Block Z (Phase 8), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
  2. Authors may choose to be present and answer questions and hand out materials during coffee breaks of the conference.
  3. All posters will be removed on 19 May 2017. If you want to keep the posters, you are advised to remove them personally at 1:00pm on 19 May 2017. After that, all unclaimed posters will be removed by the Organizers.
  4. The Organizer bears no responsibility for any damage or loss of the poster on display at the Conference.

Deadline for Poster Submission

The final softcopy of your poster must be submitted by email to apcap@tungwah.org.hk by 31 March 2017.

Poster Panel

Exhibition display panel will be allocated for each poster presentation. It is suggested that your poster should not exceed 100 cm (W) x 150 cm (H). The Organizer will help you produce the poster in the cost of HKD 400.

Poster Format and Design

  1. 1. The title of your poster should appear on the top of your poster followed by the author(s)' name and affiliation(s) below.
  2. 2. Your poster should include your abstract and other prominent sub-headings such as Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions, etc.
  3. 3. Content of the poster should be readable from about 10 feet away.
  4. 4. Word count of the poster should be about 500 to 800 words
  5. 5. Photographs, graphs, diagrams, equations or short text bullets may be used to increase the attraction of your poster.
  6. 6. Please use English filename and in image file (1:1) in CMTYK color resolution ranges from 100~150dpi in PDF, TIF or JPG format.

Registration for Presenters

All poster presenters are required to register for the conference and are also responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
